Resoving for Resolution

Do you ever felt like you've had this arugument before? The ability to maintain some flexibility in both your ideas and your habits will decrease your inclination to disagree and increse your ability to compromise and more toward a solution.

Masculinity is in a real moment of transition. Behaviour of men and the preferences of young women are evolving. Because they are responding to incredibility sensitive men who have real skills in conflict resolution. These men are very different from the kind of tough, macho men who were once seen as the ideal. Men may have found a new emotional literacy, one that contradicts the traditional masculine sterotype but nevertheless is the man of the moment- sporting hero, style icon or something...

This can create a supportive emotional relationship. Men who come into relationships with this kind of personal outlook tend to maintain it and bring forward healthier communication patterns for years to come.

Gambling Towards Losing Control

You can see in the ads, everyone who places a bet or buys a lottery is a winner. In reality, all forms of gambling are based on the inevitability of loss. Gambling can make us feel out of control, not only over the outcome of a wager, but of our lives.

It's a process that starts with scratch-off lottery tickets and bingo and progresses to slot machines. Casinos work hard to offer some characteristics very important for individuals who in the past would not gamble. Slot machines and other electronic gambling devices offer what is a welcoming environment to the novice gambler, and to women particularly. It's relatively cheap way to begin playing. It feels physically safe and attractive. For a lot of people, it's an anecdote to boredom.

New gamblers don't like to be aggressive or carry on a conversation with a blackjack dealer. They want to get off by themselves, be safe and sit down with nobody bothering them. It's real easy for someone to get sucked in to slot machines. They're alluring. You can loose all consciousness of the value of money.

Nobody chooses to develop a gambling problem. But you need to watch out, if you begin to shield other from your gambling plans. It's the first step toward losing control.

Turning Off The Television

Television is the creamy filing that distracts us from the substance of our lives. Do not let telvision become the default organizer of your time.

It may seem interesting but you've got to get out eventually. If you will add up the time in your day, especially the free time in your day, and then figure out how much goes out to television, it will make your jaw drop. We don't even consider the alternative. For most people, it would be like choosing to walk across the counrty instead of flying. But there's just so much freedom in your life when you gain that time.

Competition Of Generations

We see things differently through generations because changes in the culture, events and sometimes just because they can. Accepting different generational perspectives as a reality of life, rather than feeling a sense of rivalry with those who have different views, allow us to continue functioning in an evolving world even as we contunue to value our own views.

I was just trying to help my kids to head off mistakes, each time I thought I knew best. But I probably push to hard for my opinion. The thing is, what's the point of making a mistake if you don'ot have to?

Grandparents can push for too much control. They have to leave their egos at the door and not try to impose their parental perspective on their adult offspring. And we need to know that not everyone is going to see eye to eye with us. Saying "I know what to do, I raised you" is demeaning and demanding.
